# Before kickoff

You can lock only on an open market, and only before kickoff. The share count freezes at lock.

You can lock a script only on a market that already exists, and only before kickoff.

If the fixture has no market yet, use Request market. The desk gets the match details. One request per match.

Each lock is its own script. A match can have many scripts. After kickoff, new locks close.

The Amazon share count is fixed in the lock. Later price moves do not change what that script pays. The confirm step shows the stake value, the Amazon price, and the shares a perfect script receives. Those figures come from the signed prices, not from a number you type.
